| 5 | 5 | | relating to county bail bond board meetings in certain counties. |

| 6 | 6 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 7 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Section 1704.055, Occupations Code, is amended |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | (b) Except as provided by Subsection (c), a [A] board shall |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | meet: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (1) at least once a month; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (2) at other times at the call of the presiding |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | officer. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (c) A board in a county with a population of less than 50,000 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | shall meet at least four times each year during the months of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | January, April, July, and October at the call of the presiding |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | officer. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
