The bill would amend the Government Code to allow for on-line recertification for qualified handgun instructors in lieu of semi-annual in-person firearm qualification and renewal. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2009. Implementing the provisions of the bill would not pose a significant fiscal impact to the state. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
