99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Chapter 90, Civil Practice and Remedies Code, is
1111 amended by adding Section 90.013 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 90.013. APPOINTMENT OF RETIRED JUDGES. If a retired
1313 judge is appointed to a Chapter 90 MDL pretrial court, the judge is
1414 entitled to all compensation and benefits of a sitting district
1515 court judge.
1616 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1717 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1818 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
1919 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2020 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
