                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 30, 2009      TO: Honorable Frank Corte, Jr., Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3954 by Turner, Chris (Relating to operation of the Texas Veterans Leadership Program by the Texas Workforce Commission.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to operation of the Texas Veterans Leadership Program by the Texas Workforce Commission.  The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is currently operating this program at a cost of $2,728,249 per year in Federal Funds, which would total $13,641,245 for the FY 2010-14 period.  Based on the analysis of the TWC, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
