| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 302, Labor Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 302.0145 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 302.0145. OPERATION OF TEXAS VETERANS LEADERSHIP | |
| 13 | 13 | PROGRAM. (a) In this section, "Texas Veterans Leadership Program" | |
| 14 | 14 | means a resource and referral network operated by the commission | |
| 15 | 15 | that serves to connect returning veterans of military operations in | |
| 16 | 16 | Iraq and Afghanistan with the resources and tools needed to lead | |
| 17 | 17 | productive lives and enjoy the full benefits of the society they | |
| 18 | 18 | have served. | |
| 19 | 19 | (b) The division shall operate the Texas Veterans | |
| 20 | 20 | Leadership Program as a permanent, ongoing program of the | |
| 21 | 21 | commission. | |
| 22 | 22 | (c) The commission may adopt rules as necessary to implement | |
| 23 | 23 | this section. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 25 | 25 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 26 | 26 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 27 | 27 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 28 | 28 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
