| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Chapter 25, Tax Code, is amended by adding | |
| 12 | 12 | Section 25.028 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 25.028. PUBLICATION ON INTERNET OF INFORMATION | |
| 14 | 14 | REGARDING PROPERTY CATEGORIES. (a) This section applies only to an | |
| 15 | 15 | appraisal district that: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) owns, operates, or controls an Internet website; | |
| 17 | 17 | and | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) publishes on the website information from the most | |
| 19 | 19 | recently approved appraisal roll that: | |
| 20 | 20 | (A) includes a description of each parcel of real | |
| 21 | 21 | property included in the appraisal roll and the appraised value of | |
| 22 | 22 | the property; and | |
| 23 | 23 | (B) is searchable according to the account number | |
| 24 | 24 | of the property, the physical address of the property, or the name | |
| 25 | 25 | of the owner of the property. | |
| 26 | 26 | (b) The information published on the website must also | |
| 27 | 27 | include: | |
| 28 | 28 | (1) a description of each category to which the | |
| 29 | 29 | appraisal district assigns real property for the purpose of | |
| 30 | 30 | appraising property for taxation; and | |
| 31 | 31 | (2) the category of each parcel of real property | |
| 32 | 32 | included in the appraisal roll. | |
| 33 | 33 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
