9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 1302, Occupations Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 1302.264 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 1302.264. PURCHASE OF COPPER PARTS. (a) When removing | |
13 | 13 | copper parts, a person licensed or registered under this chapter | |
14 | 14 | must provide the owner of those parts with documentation showing | |
15 | 15 | that the parts were lawfully removed by the person acting under the | |
16 | 16 | authority of the owner. | |
17 | 17 | (b) A person who purchases copper parts without obtaining | |
18 | 18 | from the seller a copy of the documentation required to be provided | |
19 | 19 | under this section commits an offense. An offense under this | |
20 | 20 | section is a Class A misdemeanor. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
