99 relating to the membership of the Advisory Board on Cosmetology.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 1602.051(a), Occupations Code, is
1212 amended to read as follows:
1313 (a) The Advisory Board on Cosmetology consists of seven
1414 [five] members appointed by the presiding officer of the
1515 commission, with the commission's approval, as follows:
1616 (1) one member who holds a license for a beauty shop
1717 that is part of a chain of beauty shops;
1818 (2) one member who holds a license for a beauty shop
1919 that is not part of a chain of beauty shops;
2020 (3) one member who holds a private beauty culture
2121 school license; [and]
2222 (4) two members who each hold an operator license;
2323 (5) one member who represents a licensed public
2424 secondary or postsecondary beauty culture school or program; and
2525 (6) one public member.
2626 SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date
2727 of this Act, the presiding officer of the Texas Commission of
2828 Licensing and Regulation shall appoint the additional members to
2929 the Advisory Board on Cosmetology as required by Section 1602.051,
3030 Occupations Code, as amended by this Act.
3131 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
