| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 111, Tax Code, is amended |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | by adding Section 111.00457 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Sec. 111.00457. INFORMATION RELATING TO OTHER PERMIT OR |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | LICENSE REQUIREMENTS. (a) The comptroller shall include the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | following statement on each application for a permit or license |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | issued by the comptroller: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WARNING. You may be required to obtain an additional permit |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | or license from the State of Texas or from a local governmental |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | entity to conduct business. A listing of links relating to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | acquiring licenses, permits, and registrations from the State of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Texas is available online at |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | http://www.TexasOnline.com/portal/tol/en/9/1. You may also want |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | to contact the municipality and county in which you will conduct |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | business to determine any local governmental requirements. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (b) The statement required by Subsection (a) must be placed |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | in the applicant signature box or, if the application does not have |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | an applicant signature box, on the last line above the applicant |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | signature line, and in bold typeface that is at least as large as |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | any other typeface appearing in the general instructions relating |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | to the application. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (c) The comptroller shall revise the statement required by |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Subsection (a) as necessary to reflect any change in the Internet |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | address that provides the listing of links. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | SECTION 2. Not later than the 60th day after the effective |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | date of this Act, the comptroller of public accounts shall modify |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | each application for a permit or license issued by the comptroller |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | as necessary to comply with Section 111.00457, Tax Code, as added by |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | this Act. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
