88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 2306.097, Government Code, is amended to
1010 read as follows:
1111 Sec. 2306.097. ENERGY SERVICES PROGRAM FOR LOW-INCOME
1212 INDIVIDUALS. (a) The Energy Services Program for Low-Income
1313 Individuals shall operate in conjunction with the community
1414 services block grant program and has jurisdiction and
1515 responsibility for administration of the following elements of the
1616 State Low-Income Energy Assistance Program, from whatever sources
1717 funded:
1818 (1) the Energy Crisis Intervention Program;
1919 (2) the weatherization program; and
2020 (3) the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
2121 (b) Applications, forms, and educational materials for a
2222 program administered under Subsection (a)(1), (2), or (3) must be
2323 provided in English, Spanish, and any other appropriate language.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2525 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2626 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2727 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2828 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
