| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 156, Tax Code, is amended | |
| 12 | 12 | by adding Section 156.2513 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 156.2513. ALLOCATION OF CERTAIN REVENUE DERIVED FROM | |
| 14 | 14 | HOTELS IN CATASTROPHE AREAS. (a) In this section, "catastrophe | |
| 15 | 15 | area" has the meaning assigned by Section 2210.003, Insurance Code. | |
| 16 | 16 | (b) Notwithstanding Section 156.251, the comptroller shall | |
| 17 | 17 | deposit in the catastrophe reserve trust fund under Subchapter J, | |
| 18 | 18 | Chapter 2210, Insurance Code, an amount equal to the amount derived | |
| 19 | 19 | from the collection of taxes imposed under this chapter at a rate of | |
| 20 | 20 | one percent and received from hotels located in a catastrophe area. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
