9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 1.111, Tax Code, is amended by adding | |
11 | 11 | Subsection (j) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (j) A registered senior property tax consultant or an | |
13 | 13 | individual exempt from registration as a property tax consultant | |
14 | 14 | under Section 1152.002, Occupations Code, who is designated as an | |
15 | 15 | agent by a property owner and files a protest with the appraisal | |
16 | 16 | review board on behalf of the property owner is entitled to receive | |
17 | 17 | all notices from the appraisal district regarding the property | |
18 | 18 | subject to the protest until the authority is revoked by the | |
19 | 19 | property owner as provided by this section. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
