77 relating to the authority of certain designated agents to receive
88 certain notices from an appraisal district.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 1.111, Tax Code, is amended by adding
1111 Subsection (j) to read as follows:
1212 (j) A registered senior property tax consultant or an
1313 individual exempt from registration as a property tax consultant
1414 under Section 1152.002, Occupations Code, who is designated as an
1515 agent by a property owner and files a protest with the appraisal
1616 review board on behalf of the property owner is entitled to receive
1717 all notices from the appraisal district regarding the property
1818 subject to the protest until the authority is revoked by the
1919 property owner as provided by this section.
2020 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2121 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2222 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2323 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2424 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
