9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 15.1034, Texas Government Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Subsection (n) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (n) A Harris County statutory probate judge may sit and act | |
13 | 13 | on behalf of any other Harris County statutory probate judge who is | |
14 | 14 | unavailable to serve due to absence, disqualification, incapacity, | |
15 | 15 | or for any other reason, in any Harris County probate court | |
16 | 16 | courtroom, in any matter or proceeding pending in any Harris County | |
17 | 17 | statutory probate court. A Harris County statutory probate court | |
18 | 18 | judge may sign any orders in any matter or proceeding that the judge | |
19 | 19 | of any other Harris County statutory probate court may sign. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
