88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Subtitle C, Title 4, Special District Local Laws
1010 Code, is amended by adding Chapter 3888 to read as follows:
1111 CHAPTER 3888. SALES TAX REVENUE AUTHORITY FOR BAYTOWN MUNICIPAL
1212 DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT
1313 Sec. 3888.101. DEFINITION. In this chapter, "district"
1414 means the Baytown Municipal Development District.
1515 Sec. 3888.102. SALES TAX REVENUE. Notwithstanding any
1616 other law, the district may spend sales tax revenue on the land,
1717 buildings, equipment, facilities, expenditures, targeted
1818 infrastructure, and improvements the governing body of the district
1919 finds will promote new or expanded business development in the
2020 district.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2222 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2323 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2424 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2525 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
