The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize the Texas Transportation Commission to enter into a contract with a political subdivision to dispose of dredged material from the Highland Bayou Diversionary Canal on Placement Area 58 of the Gulf Coast Intracoastal Waterway. Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
