12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 54, Local Government Code, | |
14 | 14 | is amended by adding Section 54.007 to read as follows: | |
15 | 15 | Sec. 54.007. OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL FINE TO SUPPORT MUNICIPAL | |
16 | 16 | PARKS. (a) A municipality by ordinance may assess an additional | |
17 | 17 | fine for each violation of a municipal rule, ordinance, or police | |
18 | 18 | regulation in an amount of 10 percent of the fine originally | |
19 | 19 | assessed, but not less than $10. | |
20 | 20 | (b) The additional fine must be used to support municipal | |
21 | 21 | parks. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
