A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to state prisoners in a county jail.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 351, Local Government Code, is amended
by adding Section 351.005 to read as follows:
Sec. 351.005. STATE PRISONERS. A prisoner who is awaiting
transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal
Justice - Institutional Division shall not be included in any
determination concerning compliance with this Subchapter or the
rules of the Commission on Jail Standards.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
