10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 63.0011, Election Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (b-1) In the general election for state and county officers, | |
14 | 14 | including an election held in conjunction with that election, if | |
15 | 15 | the voter's residence address is not current because the voter has | |
16 | 16 | changed residence within the county, the voter may vote, if | |
17 | 17 | otherwise eligible, in the election precinct in which the voter is | |
18 | 18 | registered if the voter resides in one or more of the political | |
19 | 19 | subdivisions participating in the election at that precinct. A | |
20 | 20 | voter eligible under this subsection shall receive a ballot that | |
21 | 21 | includes all candidates and measures that are included in the | |
22 | 22 | election at that precinct, notwithstanding Section 11.001(a)(2). | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
24 | 24 | to an election ordered on or after September 1, 2009. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
