55 relating to procurement methods of the Ector County Hospital

88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 1024.105, Special District Local Laws
1010 Code, as effective April 1, 2009, is amended to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 1024.105. PURCHASING AND ACCOUNTING PROCEDURES. (a)
1212 The board may prescribe:
1313 (1) the method of making purchases and expenditures by
1414 and for the district; and
1515 (2) accounting and control procedures for the
1616 district.
1717 (b) The board may act as a governmental entity under
1818 Subchapter H, Chapter 271, Local Government Code, for purposes of
1919 using the procurement procedures authorized by that chapter. For
2020 purposes of this subsection, notice under Section 271.112(d), Local
2121 Government Code, must be provided by the district in the same manner
2222 as provided for a conservation and reclamation district created
2323 under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2525 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2626 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2727 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2828 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
