66 AN ACT
77 relating to the imposition by a county or municipality of fees
88 related to certain collection services.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Article 103.0031(c), Code of Criminal Procedure,
1111 is amended to read as follows:
1212 (c) The commissioners court or [The] governing body of a
1313 county or municipality described by Article 103.0033(b) [with a
1414 population of more than 1.9 million] may authorize the addition of
1515 collection fees under Subsection (b) for a collection program
1616 performed by employees of the commissioners court or governing
1717 body.
1818 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1919 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2020 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2121 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2222 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
