9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Article 103.0031(c), Code of Criminal Procedure, | |
11 | 11 | is amended to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (c) The commissioners court or [The] governing body of a | |
13 | 13 | county or municipality described by Article 103.0033(b) [with a | |
14 | 14 | population of more than 1.9 million] may authorize the addition of | |
15 | 15 | collection fees under Subsection (b) for a collection program | |
16 | 16 | performed by employees of the commissioners court or governing | |
17 | 17 | body. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
19 | 19 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
20 | 20 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
21 | 21 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
22 | 22 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
