| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 418, Government Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 418.185 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 418.185. DISASTER RELIEF HEADQUARTERS FOR RIO GRANDE | |
| 13 | 13 | VALLEY. The governor shall designate the Mid Valley Airport as the | |
| 14 | 14 | state headquarters for providing disaster relief in the Rio Grande | |
| 15 | 15 | Valley following the governor's declaration of a state of disaster | |
| 16 | 16 | in an area within the Rio Grande Valley. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 18 | 18 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 19 | 19 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
