| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 375.115(c), Local Government Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (c) Written notice containing the information required by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Subsection (b) shall be mailed by certified mail, return receipt |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | requested, or by another method determined by the board to provide |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | adequate proof that the notice was timely mailed, not later than the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 30th day before the date of the hearing. The notice shall be mailed |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | to each property owner in the district who will be subject to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | assessment at the current address of the property to be assessed as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | reflected on the tax rolls. |

| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
