55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to general fishing license fees for residents 65 years old
88 or over.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Sections 46.004(b) and (c), Parks and Wildlife
1111 Code, are amended to read as follows:
1212 (b) The commission may establish a lower fee or waive the
1313 fee or license requirement for:
1414 (1) a resident who has a general commercial
1515 fisherman's license of this state;
1616 (2) a resident who is blind as defined by Section
1717 94.001, Human Resources Code;
1818 (3) a resident or nonresident who is under 17 years
1919 old; or
2020 (4) a [resident or] nonresident who is 65 years old or
2121 over.
2222 (c) The commission shall waive the fee for:
2323 (1) a qualified disabled veteran as defined by Section
2424 42.012;
2525 (2) [and for] a resident on active duty as a member of
2626 the United States military forces, the Texas Army National Guard,
2727 the Texas Air National Guard, or the Texas State Guard; and
2828 (3) a resident who is 65 years old or over.
2929 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3030 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3131 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3232 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3333 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
