9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 521.249, Transportation Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (a-1) to read as | |
12 | 12 | follows: | |
13 | 13 | (a) Not later than the 10th day after the date the court | |
14 | 14 | signs an order granting an occupational license to a person, the | |
15 | 15 | [The] court shall send: | |
16 | 16 | (1) a certified copy of the petition and the court | |
17 | 17 | order setting out the judge's findings and restrictions to the | |
18 | 18 | department; and | |
19 | 19 | (2) a copy of the order to the person. | |
20 | 20 | (a-1) The person may use a copy of the order as a restricted | |
21 | 21 | license until the 31st day after the date on which the order takes | |
22 | 22 | effect. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
