55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the duties of a court granting an occupational license
88 to a person whose driver's license has been suspended.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 521.249, Transportation Code, is amended
1111 by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (a-1) to read as
1212 follows:
1313 (a) Not later than the 10th day after the date the court
1414 signs an order granting an occupational license to a person, the
1515 [The] court shall send:
1616 (1) a certified copy of the petition and the court
1717 order setting out the judge's findings and restrictions to the
1818 department; and
1919 (2) a copy of the order to the person.
2020 (a-1) The person may use a copy of the order as a restricted
2121 license until the 31st day after the date on which the order takes
2222 effect.
2323 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
