| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Chapter 707, Transportation Code, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding Section 707.0021 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 707.0021. IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY ON OWNER OF | |
| 14 | 14 | AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLE. (a) In this section, "authorized | |
| 15 | 15 | emergency vehicle" has the meaning assigned by Section 541.201. | |
| 16 | 16 | (b) A local authority may not impose or attempt to impose a | |
| 17 | 17 | civil penalty under this chapter on the owner of an authorized | |
| 18 | 18 | emergency vehicle. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
