44 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, A full and purposeful life came to an end with the
66 passing of Wayne Wilson Streety, Sr., of Paris, Texas, on February
77 8, 2009, at the age of 88; and
88 WHEREAS, Born in Wilbarger County on January 8, 1921, to
99 Charlie and Birdie Streety, Wayne Streety married the former
1010 Kathryn Owens in 1940; the couple were blessed with a son, Wayne,
1111 and enjoyed 44 years together until Mrs. Streety passed away in
1212 1984; fortunate to find love a second time, Mr. Streety wed Juanita
1313 Foster in 1985, and their union continued to the time of
1414 Mr. Streety's death; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Streety was involved with the Boy Scouts of
1616 America and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and he
1717 served as a member and president of the board of trustees for the
1818 Littlefield Independent School District; a rancher in Red River
1919 County for a number of years, he later worked as bus foreman for
2020 North Lamar ISD; and
2121 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was a congregant of College
2222 Street Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the Musician's
2323 Union of California; he was a Shriner and a 32nd degree Scottish
2424 Rite and York Rite Mason with memberships at the Littlefield Lodge
2525 No. 1161, Collins Lodge No. 356, and Paris Lodge No. 27; moreover,
2626 he and his wife Juanita were avid dancers who belonged to the North
2727 Texas Square and Round Dance Association and the North Star Eight
2828 Square Dance Club; and
2929 WHEREAS, Although he is deeply missed, those fortunate enough
3030 to have known Wayne Streety will forever treasure memories of time
3131 spent in his company; now, therefore, be it
3232 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
3333 hereby pay tribute to the life of Wayne Wilson Streety, Sr., and
3434 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
3535 Juanita Foster Streety; to his son, Wayne Wilson Streety, Jr., and
3636 his wife, Sharon; to his stepson, Steven Foster, and his wife,
3737 Vicki; to his grandchildren, Tray Streety, Tony Whittle and his
3838 wife, Lori, Clint Whittle and his wife, Sara, Johnna McNeal and her
3939 husband, James, Shawn Bishop and his wife, Stephanie, Cody Foster,
4040 Amy Graves and her husband, Bryan, and Casey Foster and his wife,
4141 Leah; to his great-grandchildren, Ryan, Hayden, Marrisa, Jose,
4242 Daniel, and Neicy Whittle, J. D., Natlie, and Drew McNeal, Savanah
4343 and Scott Bishop, Levi and Tori Hess, Coogan and Case Foster, and
4444 Gatz and Evan Michaels; and, be it further
4545 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4646 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4747 Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
4848 Wayne Streety.
