4	4	HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
5	5	WHEREAS, A full and purposeful life came to an end with the
6	6	passing of Wayne Wilson Streety, Sr., of Paris, Texas, on February
7	7	8, 2009, at the age of 88; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Born in Wilbarger County on January 8, 1921, to
9	9	Charlie and Birdie Streety, Wayne Streety married the former
10	10	Kathryn Owens in 1940; the couple were blessed with a son, Wayne,
11	11	and enjoyed 44 years together until Mrs. Streety passed away in
12	12	1984; fortunate to find love a second time, Mr. Streety wed Juanita
13	13	Foster in 1985, and their union continued to the time of
14	14	Mr. Streety's death; and
15	15	WHEREAS, Mr. Streety was involved with the Boy Scouts of
16	16	America and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and he
17	17	served as a member and president of the board of trustees for the
18	18	Littlefield Independent School District; a rancher in Red River
19	19	County for a number of years, he later worked as bus foreman for
20	20	North Lamar ISD; and
21	21	WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was a congregant of College
22	22	Street Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the Musician's
23	23	Union of California; he was a Shriner and a 32nd degree Scottish
24	24	Rite and York Rite Mason with memberships at the Littlefield Lodge
25	25	No. 1161, Collins Lodge No. 356, and Paris Lodge No. 27; moreover,
26	26	he and his wife Juanita were avid dancers who belonged to the North
27	27	Texas Square and Round Dance Association and the North Star Eight
28	28	Square Dance Club; and
29	29	WHEREAS, Although he is deeply missed, those fortunate enough
30	30	to have known Wayne Streety will forever treasure memories of time
31	31	spent in his company; now, therefore, be it
32	32	RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
33	33	hereby pay tribute to the life of Wayne Wilson Streety, Sr., and
34	34	extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
35	35	Juanita Foster Streety; to his son, Wayne Wilson Streety, Jr., and
36	36	his wife, Sharon; to his stepson, Steven Foster, and his wife,
37	37	Vicki; to his grandchildren, Tray Streety, Tony Whittle and his
38	38	wife, Lori, Clint Whittle and his wife, Sara, Johnna McNeal and her
39	39	husband, James, Shawn Bishop and his wife, Stephanie, Cody Foster,
40	40	Amy Graves and her husband, Bryan, and Casey Foster and his wife,
41	41	Leah; to his great-grandchildren, Ryan, Hayden, Marrisa, Jose,
42	42	Daniel, and Neicy Whittle, J. D., Natlie, and Drew McNeal, Savanah
43	43	and Scott Bishop, Levi and Tori Hess, Coogan and Case Foster, and
44	44	Gatz and Evan Michaels; and, be it further
45	45	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
46	46	prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
47	47	Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
48	48	Wayne Streety.
