5	5	WHEREAS, Dr. Larry N. Balli of Edinburg has distinguished
6	6	himself as a successful dentist and an esteemed civic leader; and
7	7	WHEREAS, A native of Mission, Larry Balli graduated from
8	8	Mission High School and earned a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from
9	9	the University of Houston; he subsequently returned to South Texas
10	10	and served as a pharmacist for seven years before pursuing his
11	11	doctor of dental surgery degree at The University of Texas Health
12	12	Science Center at San Antonio; and
13	13	WHEREAS, Dr. Balli opened his practice in Edinburg in 1985
14	14	and has since become one of the city's most respected dentists;
15	15	through the years, he has continued to further his skills and
16	16	knowledge as a student of the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental
17	17	Education, and he has been active in the Rio Grande Valley Dental
18	18	Society, which he served as president; in 2008, he was selected as a
19	19	Texas Super Dentist by Texas Monthly magazine, an honor of
20	20	particular significance as recipients are nominated for the
21	21	designation by their colleagues; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Dedicated to bettering the community he calls home,
23	23	Dr. Balli has given generously of his time and talents to numerous
24	24	organizations; he has served as president of the Edinburg Chamber
25	25	of Commerce, as chair of the Board of Governors of the Edinburg
26	26	Regional Medical Center, and as a board member of the Edinburg
27	27	Economic Development Corporation and Edinburg General Hospital;
28	28	moreover, he is involved in the effort to provide free dental
29	29	services to children from low-income families as a member of the
30	30	board of directors of Dentists Who Care; and
31	31	WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Dr. Balli enjoys the love
32	32	and support of his wife and business partner, Norma Garza Balli, as
33	33	well as their children, Nicole Balli Little and Brandon Balli; and
34	34	WHEREAS, The professionalism and generosity of this
35	35	outstanding dentist have greatly benefited his fellow citizens, and
36	36	he may indeed reflect with pride on his many accomplishments; now,
37	37	therefore, be it
38	38	RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
39	39	hereby congratulate Dr. Larry N. Balli on the 24th anniversary of
40	40	his Edinburg dental practice and extend to him sincere best wishes
41	41	for continued success; and, be it further
42	42	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
43	43	prepared for Dr. Balli as an expression of high regard by the Texas
44	44	House of Representatives and Senate.
