| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Church of the Hills in Austin has served as a source |

| 6 | 6 | | of spiritual support for many members of the 81st Texas |

| 7 | 7 | | Legislature; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Throughout the session, church representatives have |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | made weekly visits to the Capitol to offer prayers and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | encouragement for legislators; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Founded by 13 families in 1985, Church of the Hills |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | has been led by Charles and Marquita Patterson since the beginning; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the couple also travel the globe, ministering to people in Africa, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Asia, Europe, and Latin America; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Church of the Hills also works to help develop other |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | churches and was instrumental in the organization of two local |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | churches, as well as one in Latvia; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Guided by the core values of honor, intimacy, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | integrity, this respected house of worship has contributed greatly |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | to the 81st Legislative Session, and it is indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | hereby honor Church of the Hills for its spiritual support and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | extend to all those associated with the church sincere best wishes |

| 25 | 25 | | for the future; and, be it further |
