44 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, Church of the Hills in Austin has served as a source
66 of spiritual support for many members of the 81st Texas
77 Legislature; and
88 WHEREAS, Throughout the session, church representatives have
99 made weekly visits to the Capitol to offer prayers and
1010 encouragement for legislators; and
1111 WHEREAS, Founded by 13 families in 1985, Church of the Hills
1212 has been led by Charles and Marquita Patterson since the beginning;
1313 the couple also travel the globe, ministering to people in Africa,
1414 Asia, Europe, and Latin America; and
1515 WHEREAS, Church of the Hills also works to help develop other
1616 churches and was instrumental in the organization of two local
1717 churches, as well as one in Latvia; and
1818 WHEREAS, Guided by the core values of honor, intimacy, and
1919 integrity, this respected house of worship has contributed greatly
2020 to the 81st Legislative Session, and it is indeed deserving of
2121 special recognition; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
2323 hereby honor Church of the Hills for its spiritual support and
2424 extend to all those associated with the church sincere best wishes
2525 for the future; and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2727 prepared for Church of the Hills as an expression of high regard by
2828 the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
