H.C.R. No. 231 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The Texas Land Title Association is playing an integral role in the maintenance of Texas' historic courthouses; and WHEREAS, A statewide trade association representing the insurance industry, TLTA began sponsoring an annual Texas Courthouse Stewardship Workshop in March 2007 for counties that have completed courthouse restoration projects or are in the process of doing so; and WHEREAS, The workshops are a component of the Texas Courthouse Stewardship Program, which was created by the Texas Historical Commission in 2005 to prevent recently restored courthouses from returning to a state of disrepair by assisting counties with facility planning, budgeting, and training; and WHEREAS, Communities across the state have worked to return historic courthouses to their original grandeur, and the Texas Land Title Association's generous funding of the Texas Courthouse Stewardship Workshop is helping to ensure these investments for many years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas hereby honor the Texas Land Title Association for its continued support of the Texas Courthouse Stewardship Program and for making the maintenance and care of our historic courthouses a priority; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Texas Land Title Association as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
