| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of LuLane |

| 6 | 6 | | Caraway of Paris, who passed away on May 22, 2009, at the age of 66; |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born on October 6, 1942, to Harless and Alene |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Cameron Caraway in McKinney, LuLane Caraway attended Farmersville |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | schools and went on to earn an undergraduate degree and a master's |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | degree in library science from North Texas State University; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Caraway was employed at Paris Junior College and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | retired as the director of library services; she was a devoted and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | active member of the congregation at Calvary United Methodist |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Church and contributed her time and energy to support the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Democratic Party, attending local, state, and national |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | conventions; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, LuLane Caraway led a life filled with rewarding |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | experiences and meaningful fellowship, and she will be deeply |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her; now, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | hereby pay tribute to the life of LuLane Caraway and extend sincere |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | sympathy to the members of her family: to her nephew, Thomas G. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Caraway II; to her niece, Dorian Sparks; to her great-nephews, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Justin and Joshua Sparks; to her great-aunts, Frances Stubbs and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Verna Wilson; to her sister-in-law, Linda Huff, and to her other |

| 28 | 28 | | relatives and friends; and, be it further |
