5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, With the passing of Frances Virginia Reeves Lowrey |

6 | 6 | | on January 2, 2009, at the age of 95, the residents of Paris, Texas, |
---|
7 | 7 | | lost a beloved neighbor and friend; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born in the Jennings community in southeast Lamar |
---|
9 | 9 | | County on December 16, 1913, "Jennie" Reeves graduated from Paris |
---|
10 | 10 | | High School and went on to earn the admiration of her colleagues at |
---|
11 | 11 | | Bell Telephone Company and Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company over |
---|
12 | 12 | | the course of her working years; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, She married Phil Lee in 1946 and was widowed just |
---|
14 | 14 | | four years later; fortunate to find love a second time, she was |
---|
15 | 15 | | joined in matrimony to E. L. "Buster" Lowrey, with whom she enjoyed |
---|
16 | 16 | | a rewarding marriage until his passing; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, An avid gardener, Mrs. Lowrey helped to charter the |
---|
18 | 18 | | Twilight Tillers Garden Club and also played an active role with the |
---|
19 | 19 | | Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Covenant Christian Church; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This sweet-natured woman enriched the lives of |
---|
21 | 21 | | others through her kindness and generosity, and she will forever |
---|
22 | 22 | | hold a treasured place in the hearts of the many people who |
---|
23 | 23 | | benefited from her love and friendship; now, therefore, be it |
---|
24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |
---|
25 | 25 | | hereby pay tribute to the life of Frances Virginia Reeves Lowrey and |
---|
26 | 26 | | extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
---|
27 | 27 | | sister-in-law, Dorothy Reeves; to her stepson, Lynn Lowrey, and his |
---|
28 | 28 | | wife, Joy; to her nephew, Eddie Reeves, and his wife, Judy; to her |
---|
29 | 29 | | niece, Kay Hill, and her husband, T. J.; to her great-nephews and |
---|
30 | 30 | | great-nieces and their spouses, Shawn and Michelle Reeves, Shannon |

31 | 31 | | and Susan Reeves, Steve and Linda Hill, Jeff Hill, Toni and Chad |
