9 | 9 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Article IV, Texas Constitution, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Section 22a to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 22a. To the extent provided by general law, the attorney | |
13 | 13 | general may represent the state in the district and inferior courts | |
14 | 14 | in the prosecution of criminal and civil offenses classified by law | |
15 | 15 | as offenses against public administration, including ethics | |
16 | 16 | offenses, or as offenses involving insurance fraud. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. The constitutional amendment proposed by this | |
18 | 18 | resolution shall be submitted to the voters at the general election | |
19 | 19 | to be held November 3, 2009. The ballot shall be printed to provide | |
20 | 20 | for voting for or against the proposition: "The constitutional | |
21 | 21 | amendment permitting the attorney general to prosecute offenses | |
22 | 22 | against public administration, including ethics offenses, and | |
23 | 23 | offenses involving insurance fraud." |
