| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Audelia Creek Elementary School in Dallas was |

| 6 | 6 | | awarded "Recognized" status by the Texas Education Agency in 2008; |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, To ensure that all students in Texas benefit from |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the highest standards of education, the TEA instituted an |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | accountability rating system for the state's public schools and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | districts; a campus gains "Recognized" status if 75 percent of its |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | students pass each of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | subject area tests, and in 2008, only 34 percent of all schools |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | earned this notable distinction; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, One of 41 elementary schools in the Richardson |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Independent School District, Audelia Creek Elementary offers early |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | childhood education as well as instruction through the sixth grade; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | known as the "Home of the Stallions," the school serves |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | approximately 600 students, and it is skillfully led by principal |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Mike Savage and assistant principal Tonja Frazier; the mission of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Audelia Creek Elementary is to provide a world-class education to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | all students; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The teachers and students of Audelia Creek |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Elementary have demonstrated outstanding dedication and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | perseverance in their pursuit of academic excellence, and they may |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | indeed take justifiable pride in the accolade their school has |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | received from the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby honor Audelia Creek Elementary School on its |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | achievement of a "Recognized" rating from the Texas Education |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Agency in 2008 and extend to its students, teachers, and staff |

| 32 | 32 | | sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
