 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Sally Van Dyke has been named 2008 Woman of the Year
 by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce/Economic Development
 Foundation; and
 WHEREAS, The Woman of the Year award was created in 1968 to
 honor Washington County citizens who have made significant
 contributions to their community, and Ms. Van Dyke has long been
 committed to improving, developing, and enriching the lives of
 others; and
 WHEREAS, A longtime Girl Scout leader, Ms. Van Dyke is a life
 member of the Heritage Society of Washington County and has helped
 to place more than 200 historic plaques in the area; in addition,
 she has served on the Brenham school board for 14 years and helped
 to restore the town's antique carousel; and
 WHEREAS, Sally Van Dyke's efforts have made her truly worthy
 of the recognition bestowed on her by her community, and it is a
 pleasure to honor her at this time; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Sally Van Dyke on being named 2008
 Woman of the Year by the Washington County Chamber of
 Commerce/Economic Development Foundation and commend her for her
 dedication and service to her fellow residents; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Van Dyke as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
