| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Georgetown police officer Jason Chaudoin exhibited |

| 6 | 6 | | swift and decisive judgment in an emergency, and his actions |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | contributed to the successful rescue of a local citizen in extreme |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | peril; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Officer Chaudoin joined fellow officer Erik Grasse |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in responding to a report of an accident in Sun City; arriving at |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the scene, they found a car submerged in a pond, with just its trunk |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | visible above the surface of the water; both officers dove in, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Officer Chaudoin repeatedly plunged underwater in search of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | passengers while Officer Grasse pulled the driver to safety; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Officer Chaudoin continued to search the water until the driver was |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | able to explain that she had been alone in the vehicle; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Thanks to the intervention of these two policemen, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the driver suffered no serious injuries, and she was treated and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | released at the scene; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This valiant Texan is a tremendous asset to the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | citizens of Georgetown, and he is truly deserving of special |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | recognition for his exemplary actions; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby honor Officer Jason Chaudoin of the Georgetown |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Police Department for his role in saving a woman from drowning and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
