44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Georgetown police officer Jason Chaudoin exhibited
66 swift and decisive judgment in an emergency, and his actions
77 contributed to the successful rescue of a local citizen in extreme
88 peril; and
99 WHEREAS, Officer Chaudoin joined fellow officer Erik Grasse
1010 in responding to a report of an accident in Sun City; arriving at
1111 the scene, they found a car submerged in a pond, with just its trunk
1212 visible above the surface of the water; both officers dove in, and
1313 Officer Chaudoin repeatedly plunged underwater in search of
1414 passengers while Officer Grasse pulled the driver to safety;
1515 Officer Chaudoin continued to search the water until the driver was
1616 able to explain that she had been alone in the vehicle; and
1717 WHEREAS, Thanks to the intervention of these two policemen,
1818 the driver suffered no serious injuries, and she was treated and
1919 released at the scene; and
2020 WHEREAS, This valiant Texan is a tremendous asset to the
2121 citizens of Georgetown, and he is truly deserving of special
2222 recognition for his exemplary actions; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby honor Officer Jason Chaudoin of the Georgetown
2525 Police Department for his role in saving a woman from drowning and
2626 extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
2727 further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Officer Chaudoin as an expression of high regard by the
3030 Texas House of Representatives.
