| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Crane High School boys' golf team captured the |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Demonstrating exceptional skill and concentration, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the Golden Crane players bested a number of tough competitors, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | including teams from Alpine, Kermit, McCarney, Wink, Coahoma, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Van Horn, to take top honors at the meet; moreover, 2009 marks the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | second consecutive year that the Crane golfers have claimed overall |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | victory at the invitational tournament; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The Golden Cranes varsity squad posted a combined |

| 15 | 15 | | score of 331 for the top four finishers; Derek Means shot a 75 to |

| 16 | 16 | | lead the pack, followed by Jordan Cavazos with a score of 77, Jacob |

| 17 | 17 | | Lowery with an 88, and Cody Black with a 91; Kaleb Kea, Austin |

| 18 | 18 | | Rawls, Teague Esparza, Jonathan Harrell, Cristian Venegas, Kyle |

| 19 | 19 | | Day, Dustin Allaire, and Michael King also turned in solid rounds |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In claiming their victory, the Crane team members |

| 22 | 22 | | were guided by coach Trey Morgan, whose expertise has helped these |

| 23 | 23 | | talented student-athletes to perform at the highest level; and |

| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Winning an invitational tournament requires focus, |

| 25 | 25 | | determination, and a commitment to excellence, and the members of |

| 26 | 26 | | the Golden Cranes squad may take justifiable pride in their hard |

| 27 | 27 | | work and exceptional performance; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Crane High School boys' golf |
