| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Thiede of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. |

| 6 | 6 | | 280 in Highland Village has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and |

| 7 | 7 | | this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |

| 9 | 9 | | honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | criteria, Mr. Thiede earned the requisite 21 merit badges and, for |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | his Eagle Scout project, created a butterfly garden for the science |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | department of his school, Coram Deo Academy, in Flower Mound; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding |

| 15 | 15 | | leadership ability throughout his scouting career, earning the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | highest rank that scouting offers; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Thiede's dedication to excellence and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |

| 21 | 21 | | on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Matthew Thiede on achieving the |

| 24 | 24 | | rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
