| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Leldon Hensley has been inducted into the Odessa |

| 6 | 6 | | Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, and this occasion provides a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | fitting opportunity to honor this esteemed Texan; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born in Winters and raised in Walnut Springs, Leldon |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Hensley went on to earn a bachelor's degree in civil biology and a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | master's degree in education from Sul Ross State University; he |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | worked as a biology teacher and football coach for six years at |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Borger High School and later at Permian High School, and he coached |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | football at West Texas A&M University for two years; since 1973, Mr. |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Hensley has owned a general construction business in Odessa, the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Samson Corporation; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Hensley has been active in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | such local organizations as the Rotary Club, and he serves on the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | board of the Odessa Housing Authority; he is also a former president |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and current board member of the Odessa Industrial Development |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Corporation, the Midland-Odessa Transportation Alliance, and the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Odessa Development Corporation, and he is a congregant at First |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Presbyterian Church of Odessa; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Hensley enjoys the love |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and support of his wife, Cherie; the couple's treasured family has |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | grown to include two children, Shae and Dean, and a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | daughter-in-law, Klaire; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community and his profession, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Leldon Hensley has garnered the lasting respect and admiration of |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | his fellow residents, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | his civic contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Leldon Hensley on his induction |

| 33 | 33 | | into the Odessa Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame and extend to him |
