H.R. No. 1098 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Ted Hogan was honored by the Heritage of Odessa Foundation with a 2009 Community Statesman Award in recognition of his outstanding civic contributions; and WHEREAS, Every year for the past quarter-century, the Heritage of Odessa Foundation has paid tribute to individuals who have excelled in their various fields and in their public service endeavors; nominated by their fellow citizens and chosen by a special committee, the 13 recipients have volunteered their time and resources to support Odessa and its residents; in 2009, Mr. Hogan was selected for this accolade in the category of business; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hogan has operated a number of local commercial ventures, including Chief Transports, Turner Bit Services, and Black Viper Energy Services, and he is currently the proprietor of Light Tower Rentals, Incorporated, which has seven branches throughout Texas and New Mexico and more than 100 employees; Mr. Hogan also serves on The University of Texas of the Permian Basin Development Board and the Security Bank Advisory Board, and he is actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America, the United Way, the American Pilots' Association, and the Odessa Chamber of Commerce; moreover, he is a deacon at the 6th and Jackson Church of Christ; and WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his profession and to the city of Odessa, and his compassion and generosity are an inspiration to all who know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Ted Hogan on his receipt of a 2009 Community Statesman Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Hogan as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
