| 7 | 7 | | Cuellar of Odessa, who passed away on May 30, 2008, at the age of 24; |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry |

| 10 | 10 | | Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Sergeant |

| 11 | 11 | | Cuellar was killed in Baghdad, Iraq, when his vehicle struck an |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | improvised explosive device; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, "Bozzy" Cuellar was |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | born in Odessa on June 23, 1982, to Lori Cuellar and Rafael Cuellar, |

| 15 | 15 | | Jr.; he graduated from Permian High School, where he was a member of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the PHS ROTC, band, and drumline; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Cuellar was devoted to his wife, Nichole, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and his sons, Jeremy, Cayden, and Sebastian; generous and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | compassionate, he was known for his desire to help others; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | women whose love for their country inspires them to volunteer for |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | military service, yet the tragic death of this brave young man is a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | sobering reminder of the cost of war; Sergeant Bozzy Cuellar |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | embodied the highest ideals of the U.S. armed forces, and those who |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | knew and loved him will forever carry him close in their hearts; |

| 26 | 26 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
