| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The vitality of the culinary culture of Texas |

| 6 | 6 | | depends on the creativity and drive of innovative entrepreneurs, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and one such individual is Lisa Wong of San Antonio, who has been a |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | prominent figure in the city's restaurant business for the past |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | three decades; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Alamo City, Ms. Wong is the daughter |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | of Isabel Sanchez and Samuel Wong, and her distinctive Chinese and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Mexican heritage has informed her professional achievements; at the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | age of 13, she began her first kitchen job, which she held until |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | graduating from Jefferson High School in 1981; shortly thereafter, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | she opened Lisa's Mexican Restaurant with the help of her parents |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and her brother, Richard; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Learning her demanding trade from the ground up, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | this dynamic restaurateur took over Rosario's Caf y Cantina on |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | South Alamo in 1992 and soon won a loyal local following; needing |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | more space, she moved Rosario's in 1999 to a new location, where she |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | has met with great success and built a winning philosophy that has |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | enabled her to explore new opportunities and take on additional |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | challenges; most recently, Ms. Wong opened Acenar on the San |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Antonio River Walk, and she is also a partner in the popular China |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Latina restaurant; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Lisa Wong has contributed greatly to the dining |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | experience in San Antonio, and she may indeed take justifiable |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | pride in her achievements and in the pleasure she continues to bring |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | to thousands of appreciative patrons each year; now, therefore, be |
|---|

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate restaurateur Lisa Wong on her |
|---|
