 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The loved ones of Flavia Cuellar Gutierrez of San
 Antonio were greatly saddened by her passing on March 7, 2008, at
 the age of 93; and
 WHEREAS, Born on January 2, 1915, in Brownsville, Flavia
 Cuellar was the daughter of Encarnacion and Luisa Cuellar; she
 earned the title of top salesperson with Ralph's of Palm Village and
 lived in her hometown until 1967, when she moved to San Antonio; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Gutierrez shared a rewarding marriage with her
 husband, Geronimo Serrata Gutierrez, for 43 years, until his death
 in 1978; while embracing the roles of wife and mother, she extended
 her care and concern to many other people whose lives she touched as
 a friend; she was also a valued parishioner of First United
 Pentecostal Church; and
 WHEREAS, Flavia Gutierrez was a kind woman whose laughter and
 zest for life endeared her to many, and she will forever hold a
 treasured place in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to
 know her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Flavia Cuellar
 Gutierrez and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
 to her children, Irma Guerrero, Maria Elena Nena Ball, Jerry
 Gutierrez, Uvaldo Luis Gutierrez and his wife, Maria, Janie Miller
 and her husband, Warren, and Joe Albert Gutierrez and his wife,
 Sheri; to her 27 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 2
 great-great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Flavia
 Cuellar Gutierrez.
