 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, San Antonio businessman Harvey Najim has been
 recognized both by the Chronicle of Philanthropy and by
 BusinessWeek magazine as one of the nation's top 50
 philanthropists; and
 WHEREAS, The chair and CEO of Sirius Computer Solutions, this
 caring and generous Texan is the founder of the Harvey E. Najim
 Family Foundation, which is dedicated to children's charities; he
 created the foundation with a gift of $76.5 million in 2006; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Najim and the Najim Foundation have supported a
 number of worthwhile efforts in behalf of children in the San
 Antonio area, including the Hill Country Youth Ranch, Respite Care
 of San Antonio, Mission Road Ministries, Haven for Hope, Child
 Advocates San Antonio, and SAMMinistries, among many others; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Najim was included in the Chronicle of
 Philanthropy's "The Philanthropy 50" for 2007, and BusinessWeek
 magazine placed him on its annual list of "The 50 Most Generous
 Philanthropists" in 2008; and
 WHEREAS, The children of Texas have benefited greatly from
 Mr. Najim's decision to share the wealth he has gained from his hard
 work and good fortune, and it is most fitting that he receive
 widespread recognition for his generosity and his commitment to the
 youth of our state; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Harvey Najim on being recognized as
 one of the top philanthropists in the nation and extend to him
 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Najim as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
