| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Noel Nicholas Troxclair will celebrate his 60th |

| 6 | 6 | | birthday in 2009, and this important milestone provides a fitting |

| 7 | 7 | | opportunity to take note of the accomplished life of this esteemed |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | resident of Uvalde County; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born on September 11, 1949, to Noel Jovita Volk |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Troxclair and Noel Nicholas Troxclair, Sr., in White Castle, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Louisiana, Noel Troxclair grew up with three sisters, Jovita, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Karen, and Mignon; he graduated from White Castle High School, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | where he was an avid runner and football player; he valiantly |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | answered his nation's call to duty as a member of the armed forces |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and served in the Vietnam War; his college studies began at |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Louisiana State University, where he earned bachelor's and master's |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | degrees, and he furthered his education with a doctorate in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | entomology from Purdue University; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Troxclair worked as an entomologist with the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | University of Illinois Extension Service before relocating to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Texas; in 1997, he began his employment as an extension |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | entomologist and assistant professor of entomology at the Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Uvalde, where he also |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | participates in agricultural research efforts; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, This dedicated teacher and scientist shares his |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | expertise with youth agricultural programs such as 4-H and FFA |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Entomology, and he is a member of professional organizations such |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | as the Society of Southwestern Entomologists, the Entomological |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Society of America, and the International Organization for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Biological Control; moreover, Dr. Troxclair has donated a great |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | deal of his time in service to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | the Christian Action Group, and the Boy Scouts of America; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Dr. Troxclair enjoys the |

| 34 | 34 | | love and support of his wife, Mary, his children, Caneel, Caleb, and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Caitlin, and his grandchildren, Clair and Sadie; and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, Noel Troxclair is a skilled educator, a valued |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | researcher, and a respected member of his community, and he may |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | reflect proudly on six decades of life well lived; now, therefore, |

| 40 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 41 | 41 | | Legislature hereby honor Dr. Noel Nicholas Troxclair on the |
