R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society
International celebrated its 75th anniversary on March 9, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1929, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society
International is dedicated to promoting the professional and
personal growth of women educators and excellence in education; it
further supports its community by fostering fellowship among
members, providing scholarships, and recognizing outstanding
education professionals; and
WHEREAS, Faithfully championing these ideals is Beta Alpha,
the organization's Jacksonville chapter, which was established in
1934; throughout its many decades of existence, the group has
remained dedicated to improving opportunities for qualified women
employed at every level of education; and
WHEREAS, The women who participate in this exemplary
organization have made a positive difference in their profession,
and it is indeed fitting that they be honored at this time; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta
Kappa Gamma Society International on its 75th anniversary and
extend to its members sincere best wishes for continued success;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
