| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society |

| 6 | 6 | | International celebrated its 75th anniversary on March 9, 2009; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1929, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | International is dedicated to promoting the professional and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | personal growth of women educators and excellence in education; it |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | further supports its community by fostering fellowship among |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | members, providing scholarships, and recognizing outstanding |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | education professionals; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Faithfully championing these ideals is Beta Alpha, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the organization's Jacksonville chapter, which was established in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1934; throughout its many decades of existence, the group has |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | remained dedicated to improving opportunities for qualified women |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | employed at every level of education; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The women who participate in this exemplary |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | organization have made a positive difference in their profession, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and it is indeed fitting that they be honored at this time; now, |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
