| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Odin and Clara Clay are being recognized by the |

| 6 | 6 | | Press Women of Texas on April 25, 2009, for their work in writing, |

| 7 | 7 | | photography, and oratory; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Clay is being honored with three first-place |

| 9 | 9 | | awards, one for a column and photos in Texas Outdoors Journal, one |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | for a poem published in Potpourri, and a third for a photo in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Potpourri; he is also receiving numerous second-place awards for |

| 12 | 12 | | his writing and photography and also for a speech he delivered to a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | photo club; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Equally accomplished, Mrs. Clay is receiving three |

| 15 | 15 | | first-place awards, two of which pay tribute to her work as a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | publicist; in addition, her chapbook of poetry, Rhyme Time, also |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | garnered a first-place commendation, and she will be given |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | second-place awards for her work in disciplines that include |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | photography and feature writing; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Odin and Clara Clay are making notable contributions |

| 21 | 21 | | to the rich creative tradition of the Lone Star State, and their |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | achievements are justly recognized with these honors; now, |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Odin and Clara Clay on winning |
