 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, United States service members render sacrifice that
 is truly beyond measure; and
 WHEREAS, These dedicated men and women are often away from
 their homes and families for lengthy periods of time, and many also
 leave behind promising careers; and
 WHEREAS, Veterans are among the most productive and motivated
 people in the country, with countless skills that are transferable
 from the military to the civilian workforce; moreover, their years
 of experience and training have helped them become strong leaders
 who excel at performing under pressure; and
 WHEREAS, Texas is home to some 1.7 million veterans, whose
 talent, work ethic, and dependability would greatly benefit
 employers and the overall economy; and
 WHEREAS, Texans, indeed all citizens, owe a profound debt of
 gratitude to each individual who serves or has served in the United
 States armed forces, and providing job opportunities for veterans
 is one way to express our admiration and appreciation for the
 experience they have gained in our service; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby encourage Texas employers to take full advantage
 of the skills, expertise, and character of these patriotic
 Americans by offering them employment opportunities.
