H.R. No. 1264
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ethan Louis Van Antwerp of Boy Scouts of America
Troop No. 40 in Houston attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
criteria, Mr. Van Antwerp earned 33 merit badges and completed an
Eagle Scout project of lasting benefit to his community; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Humble High School, where he earned
three letters for cheerleading, this fine young Texan is currently
a midshipman at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings
Point, New York; he is a member of the color guard, honor guard,
drill team, and sailing team; and
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Van Antwerp's dedication to excellence
and perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy
to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with
pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ethan Louis Van Antwerp on
achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Van Antwerp as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
