| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ethan Louis Van Antwerp of Boy Scouts of America |

| 6 | 6 | | Troop No. 40 in Houston attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |

| 7 | 7 | | accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |

| 9 | 9 | | honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | criteria, Mr. Van Antwerp earned 33 merit badges and completed an |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Eagle Scout project of lasting benefit to his community; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Humble High School, where he earned |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | three letters for cheerleading, this fine young Texan is currently |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | a midshipman at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings |

| 16 | 16 | | Point, New York; he is a member of the color guard, honor guard, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | drill team, and sailing team; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Van Antwerp's dedication to excellence |

| 19 | 19 | | and perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Ethan Louis Van Antwerp on |

| 24 | 24 | | achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best |
